Celebrating Success at the End of Key Stage 3

celebrating successThursday 16 July saw our Year 9 in the school hall for an extended assembly to celebrate their successes during Key Stage 3.

It was an incredible experience to see so many of the year group receiving recognition for events they had taken part in and success both academically as well as socially.

As well as the usual Headteacher's Certificates, there were department prizes for those students showing the most effort and progress.

Congratulations once again to those Year 9 students achieving a departmental prize:

  • Maths - Jess Mortimer
  • English - Anna Kelly
  • Science - Emma Wey
  • French - Charlotte Payne
  • Spanish - Kira Gardener
  • German - Frankie Ianelli
  • History - Lucie Lloyd
  • Geography - Maria Slade
  • Design and technology - Beth Webb
  • Music - Joseph Tong
  • Religious Education - Imogen Davies
  • Physical Education - Hollie Cornish

As a special event we also recognised those students who have played a special role in their tutor groups.

Tutors nominated the 'Most valued Member of the Tutor Group‘
9J - Hollie Cornish
9K - Emily Searle
9L - Megan Sellick
9M - Dominika Dullek
9Q - Samantha Kemmish
9S - Jack Coleman
9T - Jamie Bruton
9W – Charlotte Payne

Students voted for the 'Students‘ Student‘

9K – Kate O‘Coy
9L – Sophie Evett
9M – Laura Burnell
9Q – Brian Ford
9S – Tom Sullivan
9T – Beth Manley
9W – Rachael Morris

Well done to you all!

The Morning celebrations would not have been complete without the brilliant performances given by those very talented musicians, singers and dancers we have in our year group.

  • Our 'Girl Band‘ – Natalie Williams, Kathryn Jay and Charlotte Harrison
  • Vocalists - Imogen Davies and Imogen Pearce
  • Pianist and violinist – Joe Tong and Ruby Hamilton
  • Acting/Singing duo – Stephanie Mclaren and Michelle Richards
  • Dance Trio – Beth Webb, Jenny Shadrick and Alice Moyse

Head of Year 9, Mrs Ballantine, was truly impressed with the standard of performance given by them all.  She commented 'It was a very special event and I felt so proud to be your Head of Year'  She concluded 'Have a great holiday, come back in September feeling relaxed and ready to start Key Stage 4 with the same enthusiasm and commitment.'
