Creative Writing
Following their achievements in the Bronze award in Autumn 2007, Miss Porter’s original creative writing group has continued on to the Silver award.
Willow Workshop
As part of the Arts Award we invited local Artist Sophie Courtier to take a workshop using the traditional material of willow.

pupils to organise and run a dance workshop for Year 7 pupils as part of their Arts Apprenticeship
'Dying 2 B Drunk'
Fourteen Arts Award pupils enjoyed a visit to the Bridgwater Arts Centre where they watched the local dance company “Pretty Good Girl” in a performance of “Dyin’ 2 B Drunk”.
The show combined hip-hop, rap, funk and contemporary music to tell the story of a girl who turns to alcohol in order to fit in with her friends.
This was a fantastic opportunity for our pupils to see a live performance, which is a requirement for both the Bronze and Silver art award schemes, and to learn about the risks of “binge” drinking from the safety of their theatre seats.
