Uniform

Our students are expected to wear school uniform and we seek the support and co-operation of our parents at all times in this.

We consider uniform is the most appropriate form of clothing for school wear.  We believe it makes a real difference to the tone and atmosphere of our school if our students are neatly and appropriately dressed.  Our students are expected to wear full uniform to and from school.

  • Plain black school blazer with black buttons and school badge on chest pocket - A fashion jacket is neither acceptable nor permitted for school
  • Plain white shirt with a collar and top button
  • School tie
  • Plain black tailored skirt no more than 5cm above the knee or black full length tailored trousers with plain black belt, if worn.
  • Sensible black shoes
  • Black or white socks
  • A plain black V-necked jumper is permitted only when worn underneath the school blazer

School uniforms are available from Hooks of Bridgwater, Jual and Goldstar.

We recognise the pressures that parents come under from their children and children from their friends.  However, some fashions are neither suitable nor acceptable for school and we wish to make this clear to avoid potential conflict.

The following are NOT acceptable:

  • Shirts that cannot be properly tucked in nor buttoned at the neck
  • Trainers
  • Piercings of any sort, other than a single stud in each ear (earrings are not acceptable)
  • Hair coloured or styled unusually, including inappropriate accessories (a plain black hair band is acceptable); hair should be kept tidy for school at all times
  • Make-up and jewellery, apart from a wrist watch and single ring
  • Modifications to the stated uniform arising from changes in fashion

Blazers should be worn at all times unless students have been given permission by a member of staff to remove them.

Outdoor coats are not to be worn in school.

The school reserves the right to make the final judgement on what is and is not acceptable, and expects parental support in this.

The best advice we can give is "ALWAYS ASK BEFORE YOU DO IT"

PE/GAMES KIT
Boys and girls

Compulsory Kit

  • Red/navy reversible rugby shirt
  • Plain navy football shorts
  • Plain white T-shirt or polo shirt
  • Red/navy sports socks
  • White sports sock
  • Shin pads for all hockey and football lessons
  • Trainers suitable for sporting activity (not skate-boot style trainers)
  • Football boots (boys)

Optional Kit

  • Navy sports tracksuit for use in cold/wet weather
  • Gumshields (Gumshields can provide useful protection against injuries to the teeth in competitive games of hockey and rugby.  We recommend that if students wish to wear gumshields, they should be properly modelled and fitted by a dental practitioner.  Off-the-shelf mouthguards may not provide the same level of protection.)

All kit should be named.
No jewellery should be worn in Physical Education lessons.
