Introduction
I am pleased to offer you our School Prospectus which I hope you will find informative and helpful in deciding if Haygrove is the school for your son or daughter. At Haygrove we place teaching and learning at the heart of all that we do and our central purpose is to provide a first class education for all our children. To this end we believe that education should be a genuine partnership between home and school.
Our aim is to provide a happy and purposeful environment built upon mutual respect and positive relationships that encourages endeavour, an enjoyment of learning, and the pursuit of personal achievement in all aspects of school life. Each student is encouraged to be successful, active and confident in their learning.
Our vision for our school is a simple one. It is that we:
- accept and value the child
- see what the child is capable of being
- have the capacity to help the child to achieve this
In our Prospectus we set out how some of this happens, but no Prospectus will ever give you the full picture of what a school is like. Choosing the right school for your child can therefore be a confusing and often perplexing business, but it’s important to get it right. It is one of the most important decisions you are likely to make.
There are four useful ways of finding out about any school:
- read the prospectus - this will give you the factual information that all schools are obliged to provide - but look beyond any glossy packaging
- talk to parents who have children in the school - they will tell you how responsive the school really is when something needs sorting out
- talk to the Head and visit the school on an ordinary day when no special presentations are being put on to try to impress you
- access the school website for up to date information about current events and student achievements.
Then use your judgement and hope for the best! But above all feel confident that if you have a concern, someone at school will listen and respond.
If you want to find out more about our school, please do not hesitate to contact us. We are always pleased to meet with parents, to show them around our school and to talk about our work.
